Nothing Fancy Bourbon Cocktail (for Bill)
- 2 oz. Maker’s Mark
- 1 oz. Blueberry Shrub
- Lemon Wedge
- 1 Leaf or Spring Aromatic Herb
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Add 2oz. of Maker’s Mark and 1 oz of Blueberry Shrub.
Shake it up.
Strain into a chilled glass.
Give the aromatic herb a couple of smacks between your palms to release its herbaceousness, rub the inside rim of the glass with it.
Garnish with a wedge of lemon and enjoy.
How to make a “Blueberry Shrub” mixer.
- 10 blueberries
- 1 lemon wedge
- a cup of water
- a cup of sugar
In a small sauce pot add the blueberries, sugar, water, and lemon. Over low heat stir until the sugar is completely dissolved and the blueberries are thoroughly macerated. Allow to the sit and cool for a few hours, then strain into a glass container.
