Red, White, and Blue

Everything you need.

Just for the cocktail

  • 2 1⁄4 oz. of fruit infused bourbon.
  • 3⁄4 oz. blueberry shrub
  • 1 mint leaf

Most of the “mixology” for this cocktail happens in the prep of the fruit infused bourbon and the blueberry shrub.

In a shaker filled with ice, add 1 ½ shots (approx. 2 1⁄4 oz) of bourbon, and a ½ shot (3⁄4 oz.)  of the blueberry shrub.  Shake and then strain into a chilled glass that has been prepped by rubbing a mint leaf on inside, and a large ice cube.

PREP:  Fruity Bourbon

For this you need to pit and cut up five strawberries, and one white peach.  Put the pieces into a container capable of holding both the fruit and and an entire bottle of Maker’s Mark (save the bottle).  If the peach is juicy, save that juice and pour it into your mixing container.

Cover this and let it sit at least over night, but more is fine.   When ready strain back into your Whiskey Bottle.

PREP:  Blueberry shrub
